I HAVE A DATE!!!!!

I finally got the email that I had been waiting for...my court date!! December 13th I will be in court in Uganda.  Please pray for favor with the judge and God's will & provision over the court room.  It has been just about one year since I first met Favour.  What a difference a year makes:)  I am in love with this little girl and her country.  This year has definately had many ups and downs, but I am so thankful for each step in this process.  God has put the most amazing people in place to support me during this trial. 

Thanks to everyone for their continued support and prayers.  I will be flying to Uganda on Dec 7th and returning on Christmas Eve (if all goes well).   The most amazing gift ever...the birth of our Savior....can't imagine the emotions  flying home with Favour on such a special night.   I am so excited to continue to teach Favour about our Savior and see the wonderful plans God has for this sweet child. 

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.   Romans 12:12

Thank you for all your prayers!!!! We had an AMAZING trip to Uganda!  Jaiden loved Africa and it was so such a blessing to see her and Favour together.  They already love each other very much.  In order to respect the process  I cannot give too many details of the trip.  I hope to be back very soon for a court date.  Please continue to pray!!

Uganda here I come!!!!

Jaiden & I are heading to Uganda in just 2 weeks!!!!  I am still waiting on a court date, but I have been praying and decided to take Jaiden during her Fall Break from school.  She will not be able to go with me for the court date b/c I  have to plan on being over there 3-4 weeks (if all goes well).  We fly out Oct 5th and will return Oct 17th.  I am so excited for my girls to meet and spend time together.   Arrangements have been made for us to stay with Favour at a guesthouse that benefits the children's home.  This is going to be one special trip!!!!!  I felt that it was really important for Jaiden to meet Favour in Uganda and experience her culture.  I know there will be many tears when we leave, but praying I will be back very soon for the court hearing.  

Finally Blogging!!

I love reading many amazing blogs.  What do I possibly write about?  For those also going through the process of international adoption....you know it is all about patience.  I have been frustrated at times, but have continued to stand in awe of the doors God has been opening to bring home my sweet little girl.  I was hoping she would have been "home" by summer now I'm hoping to have a court date in October.  The reality is I just don't know. 

   I get asked daily where I am in the process.  Waiting.  My paperwork will hopefully be submitted to the court next week and then I will wait for a court date.   It has been nine months since I have seen my little girl.  I wonder if she will remember me?  I love to see pictures of her...but sad to see how big she is getting. This precious time that we are missing out on.  God,  I have already missed out on over 4 years of her life.  I don't want to miss another day.  I am comforted daily that God loves her more than I could possibly imagine.  God is using this journey to draw me so much closer to HIM.    I am brought to my knees daily praying for my little girl so far away.  Trust HIM.  God you have the reigns and are in complete control.  That has been difficult for me, but so rewarding to know that HIS timing is perfect.

“But those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”     Isaiah 40:31 

Perseverance.  Character.  Hope. Patience.  Belief.  Strength.  All positive attributes - and all produced through the art of waiting.
